THE VENUS WITH ONE SOCK
Three figurines were found in a tomb to the right after the entrance. It is the eldest in this tomb and it had to be representing someone very important, as this room became a tomb for this pioneer. The tomb contained four graves, out of which three had figurines joining the remains - two Venus figurines and one Kouros.

Yet, it is not completely clear if the two figurines representing women were actually wearing some kind of socks or pants. They are not sculpted in the same way, this particular one has a pattern instead of straight lines. Could have it been just a style of weaving?
None of them are wearing anything else, so it makes us question was their shown, potential clothing just worn during some sort of ceremony. It was no doubt a status symbol - a piece woven to make walking comfortable for the leader of the community, perhaps.
The time that separates those two figurines is just a century, so it could have shown leadership passing from one tribe to another - or a new era for descendants.
Her hair is interestingly made into a hairdo - one that seems braided and complex. It tells us a lot about the importance of appearance and beauty in that period.
This figurine is 8 400 years old and 10.5 centimeters tall.
