THE AMPHORA VENUS

The Venus that makes us question everything - does the use value remove the title of "Venus figurine" from the venus figurine?

A sculpture that was found in a grave - not surprisingly, the youngest from the tomb 1 - one vessel shaped as a woman, an unintentional amphora.

Venus figurines are sculptures that are described not to have had utility value, yet many of them are claimed to have been used for rituals and such - it that not - USE?!

What does, then, make a figurine the Venus figurine?

The vessel surprised, as it was obviously used for liquids - holding traces of sage.

What could have been its purpose then? How was such a complex form made in a period we thought was pre-ceramic period?

It was made about 7 900 B.C. and it is 15 centimeters long.
