THE MOTHER VENUS

A figurine which most likely represents a pregnant woman is one of the largest, but not the most complete of discoveries.

The signs of potential motherhood is the position and size of her breasts, larger stomach, which is not proportional to her small arms and thin neck, but also potential stretch marks on her stomach, which she seems to be reaching or holding.

She also has some sort of headpiece, which may be making her stand out as a special member of the community, due to her pregnancy.

She is incomplete and could have been the biggest figurine, had it been well preserved.  It is 14 centimeters long and  was made about 8 000 B.C.
