In short, the idea for this sword was drawn from the saying "The pen is mightier than the sword". It has already made me try to make a work earlier, but in form of a calligraphy pen... yet I haven't posted it already as I haven't finished it, and it just needs a couple of dots of paint to be fully ready.
However, the specific wording that "the pen is mightier than the sword" was first used by English author Edward Bulwer-Lytton in 1839.
It is indicating that the written word is more effective than violence as a means of social or political change.
The idea of absolute power, that is imposed by using both sides of this sword, is somewhat of a burden. It is heavy for writing - although possible - it takes more effort than with a regular calligraphy pen.
Although quite natural and almost normal to handle as a dagger, it can do harm to the one in power, or the one who handles the sword; the calligraphy nib may leave a scratch somewhere. Therefore with power comes responsibility, with every action a reaction - and each time the absolute power is practiced - although it is doable, it is made just a little bit more difficult.
