Reconstruction Directive
Archival Reconstruction Protocol
The reconstruction of the object is to be undertaken by the collector, using the accompanying documentation as the primary reference.
The collector is asked to identify the corresponding elements, determine their orientation from the supplied reconstruction drawings, and join them according to the proposed configuration. Where a wooden support is provided, it forms part of the reconstruction and should be incorporated as indicated in the documentation. Minor discrepancies between the reconstructed object and the proposed model are acceptable and may be retained as evidence of the reconstruction itself.
Upon completion, the reconstructed object becomes the collector's responsibility: its final arrangement, placement and interpretation are no longer governed by the Archive.
